Ø ORC Engines
The Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) is named for its use of an organic, high molecular mass fluid with a liquid-vapor phase change, or boiling point, occurring at a lower temperature than the water-steam phase change.The fluid allows Rankine cycle heat recovery from lower temperature sources such as biomass combustion, industrial waste heat, geothermal heat, solar ponds etc. The low-temperature heat is converted into useful work, that can itself be converted into electricity.
Ø High Temperature Heat Pumps
Energy demand in industrial applications is a significant percentage of the total energy demand which is still dependent on fossil fuels. Heat in industry accounts for 74% of industrial energy demand and almost 20% of global energy consumption. The development and application of high temperature heat recovery technologies, such as high temperature heat pumps, can provide high efficiency heat supply that meets the heat demand of industry, leading to reduced operating costs and CO2 emissions.
